NEWSFLASH!!!!

BIG day for me and Caleb...today was his FIRST field trip! We went to Hunsader farms and it was delightful. The weather was perfect and crisp and we were the only ones there. We took a hay ride tour around the farm, got to pick out a pumpkin and pet all of the animals...even thoughthese are all things that Caleb gets to do do daily, it was still an adventure being at a new place with all of his friends. I enjoyed every second with him this morning, we left Brady at home and just the 2 of us got to go and spend some time together...ah, the joys of mommyhood!

It was a BIG day...he was SO excited and he had a wonderful time. I'm so happy that he sees school as a great adventure. I hate to let him go but it's really great to watch him grow!

OK, so, some of the best parts of my day often come while watching my two little men and all of their mischief. I have to say that, in a world where so many people waste time reaching for what's next, ignoring today because of what's coming tomorrow, and planning their next great adventure so that they will have something to look forward to, I can't help but wonder... why is today not good enough? why are these moments not good enough? why does fun have to cost money? and why do we EVER stop playing in the rain? Lord; thank you so much for my children. They remind me daily of the simple and pure joys that you have put here for us to enjoy. Thank you for letting me slow down long enough to observe them and help me, Lord, to be more like them when I grow up.

Lelie and Cole make cake!

So Leslie and I decided that we could make the cake for Laurel's birthday and being the overly confident, competitive and proud duo that we are, nothing was going to stand in our way! We rocked this cake...we'll probably NEVER do it again but we did it this time...si HA Cake Ladies...you can keep your $400...Leslie and Cole are in business! :)

So this is my favorite collage ever...we were laughing so hard at one another...Kelsey was turning redder by the second ( I do know that redder is not a word!) my vein was popping out and my papparazzi mother wouldn't stop clicking....all of that to get one good picture! I love it. I'm so glad that the 4 of us are able to have such a good time together!

Laurel turns 30 in September so we are WAY early but it was fun, she was surprised and a good time was had by all...mission accomplished.

My sweet-faced little men. How perfectly precious. I was reminded this morning just how much I adore the pitter-patter and laughter that fills my home.

The boys and I went on a little bike ride, released some grasshoppers and did a trespassing but we didn't get busted AND we got some cool pictures out of the deal.
